Profile
I am a 16-year old college student, I have been driving karts since Christmas 1999. My first kart was a Zip chassis with a Comer 2 stroke engine, but I was not old enough to race and so I had to be content to practice for 18 months until my 8th birthday. Just before my birthday, my dad bought me a Solo chassis with a Briggs and Stratton 4stroke engine so I could compete in the Open Cadet class (Open being the fastest of the Cadet classes).
In the autumn of 2001 I was old enough to race and couldn’t wait to get started. In my first 5 races I came 3rd overall once and won 4 novice awards racing in the Formula 6 and Bayford Meadows Club Championships. The winter of that year saw me compete in the Sandown Park and Bayford Meadows Winter Championships finishing 2nd in both.
2002 I contested the Open Cadet class in both the Formula 6 and Bayford Meadows Club Championships winning 8 of the 12 rounds in Formula 6, and 6 of the 8 rounds in the Bayford Meadows Championship. Set 3 lap records at 3 different circuits and was champion in my first full year in both clubs.
In September 2002 we picked up an ARC chassis with a Honda engine. I contested the F6 Championship,Bayford Meadows Summer Championship, Buckmore Park Summer Championship . I also contested the winter series at Bayford in the Open Cadet and won all three rounds and the Championship.
June 2003 saw us test and then take delivery of a brand new Project One chassis which I used for the rest of this season. I contested the National "O" plate and finished 3rd. I won the Lydd Championship and came 2nd in both the Bayford and Buckmore Park Championships. I also finished 3rd in the Formula 6 Championship.
2004 I contested the Super 2 National Championship and the Formula 6 Championship. I finished 2nd in Formula 6 and 6th in the National 4 stroke Championships. In October 2004 I changed classes, moving from 4 stroke Honda Cadet to 2 stroke Minimax. using a Tonykart Chassis supplied by The Kart Shop at Buckmore, I will contest 3 winter series. Minimax is a class using an adult sized chassis and a 125cc water cooled Rotax engine with a lot more power and some very sticky tyres.
2005 Saw me finish 3rd the Buckmore Park Winter Championship, 4th in the Bayford Meadows Winter Championship, and I won the Lydd Winter Championships, I also finished 2nd in both Buckmore Park and Bayford Meadows Summer Championships as well as some other noteable results, such as finishing 2nd in both the Ace of Clubs meeting and The Brazilain Cup. The highlight of my year was winning the Renault Champion of Champions meeting in October.
2006 Saw me contest the Bayford Meadows Winter Championship, Buckmore Park Winter Championship, Motor Sports Association British Karting Championship (Super 1), the British Racing Drivers Club Stars of Tomorrow karting Championship, Buckmore Park Summer Championship, and many other high profile events throughout the year.
2007 Saw me contest the BRDC Stars of Tomorrow Junior Max championship and I finished 8th in my rookie year.
2008 Saw me contest every major championship including Stars of Tomorrow, Super 1, Kartmasters, but once again struggled with finance.
2009 Saw me take the step into cars as we compete in the Ginetta Junior Championship which will be a support race on the BTCC calander.
